Research Interests
I act as the research technician in the Thompson Lab and I am also pursuing a PhD in weed science. I have strong interests in analytical instrument development, particularly in the area of compound separation. Much of my efforts in the past have been devoted to developing extraction and analysis methods for isolating organic compounds from different sample matrices followed by detection on GC/MS or LC/MS/MS. Recently, I have been focusing on coupling Field Flow Fractionation with ICP-MS to analyze the size and elemental composition of natural nanoparticles. My PhD research involves applying metabolomics to understand herbicide resistance in glyphosate resistant weeds.
